Click on <Edit this page>. Although Wikispaces is easy to use ONLY ONE PERSON can edit a page at the same time. You CAN type directly in the page but a better idea is paste your text from your Microsoft Word and save right away so no work is lost. Use the discussion tab to communicate with your partners and teachers.
Upload a document
Click on <Edit this page>. Click on the tree icon next to the TV screen icon just above this text. Click on <browse>, insert the filename and click on <upload file>. Place the cursor where you want the file link to go. Then double-click on the file.
Upload pictures
Click on <Edit this page>. Click on the tree icon next to the TV screen icon just above this text. Click on <browse>, insert the filename and click on <upload file>. Place the cursor where you want the picture to go. Then double-click on the picture. Finished. !!! Please keep the size of your pictures below 200KB !!!
Creating a link
You can link information from your page to another place on the wiki or another website. Click on <Edit this page>. Highlight the text you want to Click on the globe icon . A pop up box will ask you what you want to link to....be sure you have the link text filled in. Most links will be to EXTERNAL sources you can copy and paste them from another source.
You can also use Audio or Video on your page as long as it is your own work and follows copyright laws.
To upload your own audio, you can use an audio recording program to record your file. The macs have garage band, export your file as either WAV or MP3. Once recorded, you can upload it to Evoca. It is free and found at http://www.evoca.comYou can also record your file live online in Evoca.
Once logged in Evoca, click on <upload a recording> found in the right-hand column under <create>.
Once uploaded, click on < Go to your shoebox> and then click on your file. Find the tag that says <HTML code> and click on that.
Copy the code. To put your recording in your Wikispace, place the cursor on the page and at the place where you want the file to go. Click on the TV screen and paste the HTML code.

You can also make a slide show of pictures using a site called slide. http://www.slide.com it is unblocked at school.

Most embedded video sites are blocked at school. If you have created any multimedia projects, see Mrs Hokanson in the library to get it uploaded to a site that is both able to be embedded and viewed on the district network.
